June 12th, 2026. A concert. A dinner. A beautiful night.
Experience original worship songs written by students 12 - 18 years old, and performed
live for the very first time
Last summer, 35 kids walked into a worship songwriting retreat and left with original songs in their names. This summer, more kids will. Your contribution makes the difference.

35 kids walked into a 5-day worship songwriting retreat last summer with nothing but their voices and an invitation to listen. They left with songs they wrote, performed, and recorded. Original worship music, written from the perspective of their peers and rooted in pure hearts.
They sat with blank pages until something honest came out.
They collaborated with kids they'd just met.
They learned what it sounds like to listen for God's voice and write what they hear.
Every child who contributed to a song earned full writer credit on that song.
Not just the lead. Not just the loudest voice in the room. Every contributor.
June 12th is what happens next. The kids perform those songs live, with a full band, in front of the you and those who made it possible.

Join us for a powerful evening of brand-new songs written by our students, released for
the first time ever, alongside a vibrant community at the Foreign Sound Benefit.
This special night raises vital funds for our 2nd Annual Youth Songwriting Retreat: a
transformative 5-day immersive experience for youth passionate about worship and
songwriting.
A silent auction woven throughout the evening. A room full of people choosing to invest in the next generation of worship leaders.
Founded by Jason Bowen & Colten May, Foreign
Sound was born from a deep passion to mentor the
next generation of worship songwriters and leaders.
Drawing from rich study in the Psalms and a
conviction that genuine worship flows from identity in
Christ rather than performance, we create safe,
Spirit-led spaces where young people can encounter
God, hone their craft, and step boldly into their calling
as worshippers.
Foreign Sound exists to equip youth with the creative
tools, biblical foundation, and authentic community
they need to write worship songs that flow from pure
hearts and carry the presence of God into their
generation. We believe songwriting is a powerful
expression of worship and a pathway to discovering
true identity in Christ.
Every child who walks into this retreat leaves with something real.
A worship song with their name on it. Studio experience. Mentorship from people whose whole lives are built around leading God's people in worship.
The takeaways go further than music.
- They learn what it sounds like when they listen for God's voice and write what they hear.
- They learn to create in community.
- They learn that genuine worship flows from relationship, not production.
Those are foundations that follow them into every room they walk into for the rest of their lives.
The retreat doesn't run on goodwill. It runs on the people like you who decide a child's connection to God and worship is worth funding.
